Bozen Winery
The glowing cube, which seems to grow majestically out of the hillside, can be recognized from afar. Since autumn 2018, it has been the new home of the Bozen Winery and represents the successful combination of tradition and modernity. In this energy-efficient building, functionality and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. The entire production process is designed to use gravity: The grapes are gently transported from top to bottom without the need for technical assistance. Thanks to the constant soil temperature and well-thought-out, natural ventilation, the winery can largely dispense with energy-intensive measures — an example of a well-thought-out energy concept that protects natural resources.
The vineyards of the Bozen winery cover a wide range of locations that are as diverse as the landscape of South Tyrol itself. At an altitude of 200 to 1000 meters, a wide variety of varieties grow on around 350 hectares of vineyards. Here, in the best locations around Bolzano, the alpine climate and the Mediterranean sun shape the characteristics of the grapes and therefore also of the wines, which are appreciated for their freshness, elegance and intensity.
