Kornell
Kornell Estate is located in Siebeneich near Terlan in South Tyrol’s Adige Valley and is regarded as one of the region’s most exciting family-run wine estates. Situated between Bolzano and Merano, the vineyards benefit from a unique combination of Alpine climate and Mediterranean influences. Warm sunny days, cool nights, and mineral-rich porphyry and gravel soils create ideal conditions for distinctive South Tyrolean wines that combine elegance, freshness, and depth. The vineyards extend across elevations ranging from approximately 250 to 900 metres above sea level, allowing for an impressive diversity of grape varieties.
The estate’s history stretches back several centuries.
Today, Kornell is managed by Florian Brigl, who successfully combines tradition and innovation with a strong focus on origin, precision, and craftsmanship. The historic Kornell manor remains the heart of the estate and continues to shape its identity. Kornell is especially known for its philosophy of producing authentic, terroir-driven wines with a distinctive character.
Among the estate’s most important grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay for white wines, while Lagrein, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir play a central role in the red wine portfolio. The combination of altitude and diverse soil types gives the wines remarkable expression, freshness, and refined minerality.
