The Elba wine region has a long tradition of winemaking that dates back to ancient times. Today, around 350 hectares of the island are covered with vineyards, with 125 hectares being used for the production of DOC wines (controlled designation of origin). The most famous wines include “Elba Bianco”, “Elba Rosso” and the noble “Aleatico Passito”, which is considered the first DOCG wine on the island. The region's wines are characterized by variety and quality, ideal for combinations with local dishes.
