Eisacktal Winery
Cantina Valle Isarco represents alpine winemaking from one of South Tyrol’s most distinctive wine-growing areas. Founded in 1961, the cooperative today brings together 135 winegrowing families cultivating around 150 hectares of vineyards. Valle Isarco is Italy’s northernmost wine-growing area and is particularly renowned for elegant, fresh and mineral-driven white wines. Steep slopes, intense sunshine, cool nights and significant temperature variations create excellent conditions for expressive wines with a clear sense of origin. The vineyards extend across different elevations and a diverse range of soils. Quartz phyllite, diorite and porphyry shape the geological character of individual sites, giving each vineyard its own identity. Many of the steep vineyards and terraces require demanding manual work and particularly careful cultivation.
Grape varieties at Cantina Valle Isarco
The focus is firmly on white grape varieties, which have established Valle Isarco’s reputation far beyond South Tyrol. The winery works with Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Sylvaner, Müller Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay. The range is complemented by the red varieties Schiava, Pinot Nero, Lagrein and Zweigelt. Kerner and Sylvaner are among the most characteristic varieties of Valle Isarco, while Grüner Veltliner also holds a distinctive position in the region.
Aristos, Sabiona and Adamantis
For the Aristos range, Cantina Valle Isarco focuses on selected grapes and reduced yields. The collection includes Aristos Kerner, Sylvaner, Müller Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Nero, as well as the bottle-fermented Aristos Zero Metodo Classico. These wines combine distinctive varietal character with complexity and ageing potential.
The limited Sabiona wines place an even stronger emphasis on exceptional vineyard origins. Sabiona Sylvaner and Sabiona Kerner come from selected vineyards surrounding the imposing diorite rock of Sabiona.
At the top of the range is Adamantis. This strictly limited premium cuvée of Sylvaner, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio and Kerner brings together four defining grape varieties of Valle Isarco in a complex, structured and mineral white wine. It showcases the diversity and remarkable quality potential of mountain viticulture in South Tyrol.
