Cantina Merano is one of South Tyrol’s most renowned wineries, bringing together vineyards that stretch from the Merano area to the high-altitude slopes of the Val Venosta. These two wine-growing regions differ significantly in climate, elevation, and soil composition, giving the wines their distinctive identities. While the vineyards around Merano benefit from a mild Mediterranean influence, the Val Venosta is shaped by a dry Alpine climate and marked day-to-night temperature variations, creating ideal conditions for elegant and expressive wines.

The present-day winery was formed through the merger of historic wine cooperatives and today unites numerous winegrowers who cultivate their vineyards with great care. Alongside native South Tyrolean varieties such as Vernatsch and Lagrein, international grapes including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Riesling are also grown. The wide range of elevations and terroirs allows for an exceptionally diverse portfolio of wines.

Cantina Merano’s assortment includes several collections, among them the Festival Line, the prestigious Graf Line, the Val Venosta Line, as well as selected single-vineyard wines and rarities. Each collection reflects its own identity while highlighting the character of its origin. In the cellar, traditional winemaking expertise is combined with modern vinification techniques to preserve the authentic expression of each grape variety and terroir. The result is a collection of wines that showcases the many different facets of the wine-growing landscape between Merano and the Val Venosta.
