The Thomas Niedermayr winery in the Überetsch area of South Tyrol is considered one of Italy’s leading pioneers in organic viticulture and PIWI wines. At the historic Hof Gandberg estate near Eppan, the winery produces distinctive organic wines that combine sustainability, innovation and strong regional identity. For many years, the estate has focused on PIWI grape varieties, disease-resistant vines that allow for a more natural and environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. The vineyards surrounding Hof Gandberg grow on mineral-rich dolomite porphyry soils and benefit from South Tyrol’s mild climate together with cool alpine influences. These conditions create elegant wines with alpine freshness, precise aromatics and pronounced minerality. Thomas Niedermayr is especially known for its Solaris wines, which are regarded among the most exciting PIWI wines from South Tyrol. In addition to Solaris, the winery cultivates innovative varieties such as Bronner and Souvignier Gris, producing wines with distinctive character and a strong sense of terroir.

The range includes wines such as Solaris Gandberg Weiss, Souvignier Gris, Bronner and PIWI cuvées like Gandfels and Sonnrain.
