SAINT-EMILION

Saint-Emilion, Patrimonio UNESCO, produce 40 million bottles of elegant red wine, principally from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Saint-Emilion, a picturesque medieval town in the Bordeaux region, is famous for its first-class red wines. At approximately 5500 hectares of vineyards, around 40 million bottles are produced annually. The main grape varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Die Wines are known for their elegance and density. Saint-Emilion has four geological zones: the limestone plateau, gravel terraces, chalky slopes and alluvial soils. The region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has its own Classification for quality wines.
