Marchese Fumanelli

Marchese Fumanelli Winery is among the most historic producers of Valpolicella Classica in Veneto and is known for elegant red wines with depth, character and a strong connection to the region. The winery is located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella area northwest of Verona, one of Italy’s best-known wine regions for Amarone della Valpolicella, Ripasso and Valpolicella Classico.

The history of the Fumanelli family spans several centuries and is deeply connected to winemaking in the region. Today, the estate combines historical heritage with a strong focus on quality, sustainable vineyard management and careful grape selection. The goal is to authentically express the identity of Valpolicella in every wine.

The vineyards of Marchese Fumanelli are located on privileged hillside sites within Valpolicella Classica. Limestone-rich soils, Mediterranean influences and cool air currents from the nearby mountains create ideal conditions for structured, elegant and age-worthy red wines. A key element is the careful selection of grapes for the traditional appassimento process, during which grapes for Amarone and Ripasso are gently dried to enhance concentration, aromatic complexity and depth. The estate focuses on the classic grape varieties of Valpolicella, including Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and smaller amounts of Molinara. These indigenous grapes shape the unmistakable style of the region and form the basis for powerful Amarone della Valpolicella, elegant Valpolicella Classico DOC and complex Ripasso della Valpolicella wines.
