Le Macchiole
Le Macchiole, a renowned winery in Bolgheri, Tuscany, has earned a firm place in the wine world since its founding in 1983. Founded by Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, the winery stands for innovation and quality, while at the same time adhering strongly to the region's traditions and
unique terroir.The winery covers 27 hectares and produces around 160,000 bottles of wine annually. The vineyards, which are over 30 years old, are characterized by low yields, which significantly increases the quality of the grapes and therefore of the wines. Le Macchiole cultivates a wide variety of grape varieties, including Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Le Macchiole is particularly known for its single-varietal wines. These include Messorio (100% Merlot), Scrio (100% Syrah) and Paleo Rosso (100% Cabernet Franc). These wines are an expression of the winery's philosophy, which aims to accentuate the terroir and characteristics of each grape variety.
