The Lagrein Riserva DOC Rotes Bergwerk 2019 from Kiemberger Estate is a powerful and profound red wine from South Tyrol, showcasing the full potential of this indigenous variety. The Riserva designation stands for extended barrel aging and careful winemaking: the 2019 vintage matured over two years in small oak barrels, gaining impressive structure and depth. In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby color with violet reflections. The nose is filled with dark berries, leather, hints of smoke, and herbal spice. On the palate, it’s rich and concentrated with soft tannins, mineral tension, and a long, persistent finish. “Rotes Bergwerk” reflects both the wine’s strength and its artisanal origin – a wine for connoisseurs who value authenticity and depth. Excellent aging potential.
