Der Château Haut-Batailley 2016, ein 5ème Grand Cru Classé aus Pauillac, präsentiert sich in tiefem Rubinrot. In der Nase entfalten sich intensive Aromen von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren, Zedernholz und frischem Tabak, begleitet von floralen Nuancen. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich dicht und ausgewogen, mit reifen Tanninen und Noten von dunklen Früchten, Kaffee und feinen Gewürzen. Der Abgang ist lang und harmonisch, was auf ein großes Reifepotenzial hindeutet.

Die Cuvée besteht überwiegend aus Cabernet Sauvignon, ergänzt durch Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon verleiht dem Wein Struktur, Tiefe und Aromen von schwarzen Früchten sowie Zedernholz, während Merlot für Geschmeidigkeit und runde Tannine sorgt. Der Jahrgang 2016 gilt als herausragend im Bordeaux, geprägt von idealen Wetterbedingungen, die zu perfekt gereiften Trauben führten. Château Haut-Batailley liegt im südlichen Teil der Appellation Pauillac und zeichnet sich durch elegante und fein strukturierte Weine aus.
