Juicy, full-bodied, soft and round texture, pleasant aftertaste
Beetroot carpaccio, South Tyrolean Marende (bacon, sausage, cheese)
The St. Magdalener Classic DOC Reisegger 2022 from Egger-Ramer is a characterful red wine from South Tyrol, which is mainly made from the autochthonous Schiava grape variety, supplemented by a small portion of Lagrein. This wine is deep cherry red and develops a fruity aroma that is reminiscent of cherries, light bitter almond notes and violets. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied with a soft, round texture that results in a
pleasant finish.
The vineyards, located on south-facing slopes between 300 and 450 meters above sea level, benefit from sandy, weathered porphyry soils, which store heat and drain well. These conditions, together with the alternation of warm days and cool nights, typical of the region, contribute to the development of the wine's intense aromas and balanced structure.
The Egger-Ramer winery, a historic family business in Bolzano, is known for its sustainable management and production of wines that reflect the unique terroir of South Tyrol. The vinification of St. Magdalener involves fermentation on the skins at controlled temperatures and subsequent aging on the fine yeasts in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels, which contributes to the complexity and harmony of the wine.
