The Màvros IGT 2017 from Cenatiempo is an impressive red wine from the Campania region, more specifically from the island of Ischia. This wine is made primarily from the indigenous Piedirosso and Guarnaccia grape varieties, which are known for their robust aromas and adaptability to the island's volcanic terroir
.The Màvros 2017 shows a deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose, intense aromas of black fruits, especially blackberries and black cherries, develop, complemented by spicy notes of pepper and a touch of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, with ripe tannins and a pleasant freshness, which is underlined by the mineral notes of the volcanic soil
.The Cenatiempo winery, founded in 1945 by Francesco Cenatiempo and now run by his son Pasquale, is known for its biodynamic farming methods and the use of traditional techniques. The vineyards are located in the Serrara Fontana sub-regional zone, which is characterized by steep slopes and terraces. An interesting aspect of Màvros is its limited production and maturation in ancient tuff cellars, which offer perfect conditions for the development of complex aromas.
