The “Cornelius” DOC 2021 from Schreckbichl is an elegant fusion of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which reflects the unique terroir and wine-growing culture of South Tyrol. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation of the two grape varieties takes place separately. The wine is then cut in small oak barrels and aged for 14 months before being refined in the bottle for a further twelve months. In the glass, the “Cornelius” is deep garnet red and emits intense aromas of blackcurrants, accompanied by notes of cocoa, cinnamon and fine vanilla. On the palate, the elegant mouthfeel is combined with velvety tannins to create a complex and sophisticated overall impression.
