The Appius 2019 from the St. Michael-Eppan winery is an outstanding white wine from South Tyrol that reflects the region's excellence. This blend consists of 60% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Grigio, 13% Pinot Bianco, and 12% Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes come from old, low-yielding vines carefully selected based on location and soil composition. The wine exhibits a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections and develops a complex bouquet of tropical fruits such as pineapple, mango, and papaya, enriched with notes of quince and Williams pear. On the palate, it is intense and rich, with a clear structure and a harmonious balance between softness and pleasant acidity. The Appius 2019 is an ideal companion for flavorful fish dishes, mushroom and truffle specialties, as well as fine white meats and aged cheeses. It has an aging potential of at least until 2032 and has been awarded the WineHunter Gold.
