The Lagrein Riserva DOC Grafleiten 2019 from Obermoser is an outstanding wine that combines the best qualities of the indigenous Lagrein grape variety. The grapes are carefully picked by hand and come from the renowned “Grafleiten” vineyard, which is known for its excellent viticulture conditions
.Typical of Lagrein wines and especially of this riserva are the deep dark red to almost black color, intense aromas of dark berries such as blackberries and black cherries, accompanied by notes of violets, bitter chocolate and a hint of undergrowth. The taste is full-bodied and velvety, with strong but well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with a pleasant touch of spice
.The special feature of this wine lies in its aging: After fermentation, the Lagrein Riserva ages in large oak barrels for at least 24 months, which gives it additional complexity and depth. This extended aging is typical of a riserva and means that the wine has more time to develop its aromas and acquire a harmonious structure
