Der Franz Keller Chardonnay Kirchberg Großes Gewächs 2022 präsentiert sich mit einer klaren, goldgelben Farbe. In der Nase entfalten sich Aromen von reifem Kernobst wie Apfel und Birne, begleitet von Zitrusnoten, dezenten Hefenuancen und einer mineralischen Komponente. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich kraftvoll und ausgewogen, mit einer feinen Säurestruktur und einem Hauch von Rauchigkeit im Abgang.

Dieser Wein wird aus der Rebsorte Chardonnay hergestellt, die für ihre Vielseitigkeit und Anpassungsfähigkeit bekannt ist. Typisch für Chardonnay sind Aromen von gelben Früchten, eine moderate Säure und, je nach Ausbau, buttrige oder vanillige Noten. Der zwölfmonatige Ausbau in Eichenfässern verleiht diesem Wein zusätzliche Komplexität und Struktur.

Die Lage Kirchberg in Oberrotweil am Kaiserstuhl zeichnet sich durch kalkhaltige Vulkangesteinsböden und eine südwestliche Ausrichtung aus, die dem Wein eine besondere Mineralität und Frische verleihen. Das Weingut Franz Keller kultiviert hier seit den 1990er-Jahren Chardonnay-Reben, die aus den besten Klonen der Burgund stammen.
