Pinot Grigio DOC Porer BIO 2023 by Alois Lageder is an exceptional wine that perfectly embodies the essence of South Tyrolean terroir and the winery's innovation. Made from the Pinot Grigio grape variety, also known as Pinot Gris or Pinot Gris, this wine shows the typical characteristics of this noble grape. The grapes come from the best locations in Margreid and Salorno, which are at altitudes of 230 to 240 meters above sea level.
The wine has a straw-yellow colour with a slightly reddish tinge. The scent is subtly aromatic with a distinct bouquet of melon and peach, accompanied by spicy and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, fresh-fruity and dry, with lively tension and plenty of freshness
.Its complex vinification is typical of this wine. Some of the grapes are pressed immediately, another part remains in contact with the skins for 15 hours, and a third part remains in contact with stems and skins for around a year. This method gives the wine extra depth and complexity. The wine ages on fine lees for about nine months, partly in large wooden barrels and partly in
stainless steel tanks.
