Merlot DOC BIO 2023 from Bergmannhof is an elegant red wine made from 100% Merlot grapes. This grape variety, known for its soft tannins and complex aromas, grows particularly well in the loamy, calcareous soils of St. Pauls/Eppan in
South Tyrol.The wine is deep ruby red. The bouquet is rich and complex, with notes of dark cherries, plums and fine spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a
long, harmonious finish.This Merlot is grown according to organic guidelines, which underlines its specificity. The vines are grown in the Guyot system, which allows optimal solar radiation and air circulation. The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September and fermented on the skins in large wooden barrels for two to three weeks before being malolactically fermented and aged in oak barrels and 500-liter tonneaux for ten
months.
