Der Château d'Yquem 2016 ist ein herausragender Sauternes, der die Exzellenz dieses Weinguts eindrucksvoll widerspiegelt. Im Glas präsentiert er sich in einem blassen Zitronengold. Das Bouquet entfaltet intensive Aromen von honiggetränkten Aprikosen, Ananas und grünem Mango, untermalt von kandiertem Ingwer, Koriandersamen und einem Hauch von Zitrusschale. Am Gaumen zeigt der Wein eine bemerkenswerte Frische und Lebendigkeit, getragen von einer gut integrierten Säure, die die üppige Süße ausbalanciert. Noten von exotischen Früchten und mineralischen Nuancen führen zu einem langen, harmonischen Abgang. 
Die Cuvée besteht traditionell aus 75 % Sémillon und 25 % Sauvignon Blanc. Sémillon verleiht dem Wein seine Fülle und die charakteristischen Honignoten, während Sauvignon Blanc für Frische und Zitrusaromen sorgt. 
Der Jahrgang 2016 zeichnete sich durch günstige Wetterbedingungen aus, die eine optimale Reifung der Trauben ermöglichten. Die Lese erfolgte selektiv, um nur die besten Beeren mit idealer Botrytis-Entwicklung zu verwenden.
