Der Banyuls Vin Doux Naturel 2016 von Gérard Bertrand ist ein klassischer Süßwein aus dem südfranzösischen Roussillon. Er präsentiert sich in tiefem Rubinrot mit violetten Reflexen. In der Nase entfalten sich intensive Aromen von reifen roten und schwarzen Früchten wie Kirschen, Brombeeren und schwarzen Johannisbeeren, begleitet von Noten von Karamell und Schokolade. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich vollmundig und samtig mit einer harmonischen Balance zwischen Süße und Frische, unterstützt von feinen Tanninen und einem langen, fruchtbetonten Abgang.

Dieser Wein wird hauptsächlich aus der Rebsorte Grenache Noir hergestellt, die für ihre Fähigkeit bekannt ist, konzentrierte Fruchtaromen und eine natürliche Süße zu liefern. Die Besonderheit des Banyuls liegt in seiner Herstellung als "Vin Doux Naturel": Durch die Zugabe von Alkohol während der Gärung wird der Prozess gestoppt, wodurch ein hoher Restzuckergehalt erhalten bleibt und der Wein seine charakteristische Süße erhält.
