Der Château La Mission Haut-Brion Rouge 2019 ist ein herausragender Rotwein aus der Appellation Pessac-Léognan. Im Glas zeigt er eine tiefrote, purpurfarbene Farbe. Das Bouquet ist intensiv und offenbart Aromen von reifen Himbeeren und Brombeeren, ergänzt durch dezente Noten von Vanille, Eichenholz und feinen Gewürzen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Wein rund, fleischig und vollmundig, mit dominierenden Noten von schwarzen Früchten und Lakritz. Die Tannine sind saftig und samtig, was zu einem langen und harmonischen Abgang führt.

Die Cuvée variiert je nach Jahrgang; für 2019 besteht sie aus 53 % Merlot, 39 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 8 % Cabernet Franc. Merlot verleiht dem Wein seine Fülle und Fruchtigkeit, während Cabernet Sauvignon Struktur und Tiefe beiträgt. Cabernet Franc ergänzt mit würzigen und floralen Noten.

Der Jahrgang 2019 profitierte von einem milden und trockenen Winter, gefolgt von kühleren Frühlingstemperaturen, die das Wachstum der Reben verlangsamten. Die Blüte verlief unter idealen Bedingungen, ohne Verrieselung oder Kleinbeerigkeit. Nach dem abrupten Ende der Regenfälle am 22. Juni folgten mehrere Hitzewellen, die den Juli zu einem der heißesten Monate machten. Glücklicherweise sorgten Regenfälle Ende Juli und kühle Nächte im August für eine optimale Reifung der Trauben.
