Lagrein Riserva DOC Urban
The Lagrein Riserva DOC Urban 2022 from the Tramin winery is an impressive red wine that impresses with its intense aroma and structure. The color of this wine is deep ruby to dark garnet red. The scent develops fine notes of violets, complemented by fruity aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants. On the palate, Lagrein is full and velvety, with well-structured, slightly tart nuances and a long, fruity finish reminiscent of wild fruits and a hint of bitter cocoa.
Lagrein is an autochthonous grape variety of South Tyrol, which particularly thrives in the Tramin region. This grape is known for its deep colors, strong aromas and the ability to produce full-bodied wines with good shelf life. Lagrein from this wine-growing zone is characterized by the distinctive fruit aromas and the harmonious tannin structure, which are favored by the special soil conditions and climate. What is special about this wine is its classification as a riserva. This means that the wine has aged longer than the standard version, in this case 12 months in barriques and a further 6 months in concrete barrels before aging in the bottle for at least 6 months. This longer aging gives the wine extra depth, complexity, and a velvety texture.
