The Riesling DOC Präpositus 2021 from Klosterkellerei Neustift is a wine of exceptional quality and elegance. On the nose, it develops a rich bouquet of citrus fruits, apricots, pineapple and honey, which is complemented by subtle mineral notes. Its color is light straw yellow with greenish reflections, which underlines its freshness and liveliness. On the palate, the wine has an impressive combination of racy acidity, ripe fruit aromas and a harmonious minerality, which gives it an excellent structure.
The main grape variety of this wine is Riesling, a noble grape known for its finesse and versatility. Riesling grows particularly well in cooler climates, such as those prevailing in the Eisack Valley, where cool nights and warm days offer ideal conditions for growing this grape. These unique climatic conditions contribute to the Riesling from this region developing an unmistakable character.
