Merlot Riserva DOC Staffes 2021 from Weingut Kornell is an outstanding wine that embodies the best qualities of the Merlot grape variety. Made from 100% Merlot grapes, which grow on a south-west facing slope in Settequerce at an altitude of 270 meters, this wine is characterized by
its intense fruitiness and elegance.The special feature of this wine lies in its aging period: it ages for 12 months in barriques and a further 12 months in the bottle. This extended aging process, typical of a riserva, gives the wine additional depth and complexity. Merlot in riserva form is rather rare and makes this wine a special discovery.
In the glass, the Merlot Riserva DOC Staffes 2021 is dark ruby red. The bouquet is fruity with aromas of plums and wild berries, complemented by spicy notes of chocolate, mocha and dried mint, as well as a touch of graphite and smoke. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with soft tannins and a harmoniously juicy,
stimulating finish.
