Cabernet Merlot DOC 2022 from Kaltern Winery is a red wine that uses the classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes to produce an expressive and well-structured wine. The wine has an intense red color and develops aromas of wild berries and wild cherries, complemented by a spicy backbone and fresh vegetable notes, which give it an interesting complexity. On the palate, the wine is juicy and full-bodied, with an elegantly powerful structure that makes it ideal for red meat, game and spicy cheeses.

The vines grow in the warm regions around Lake Kaltern, in South Tyrol, under similar climatic conditions as in their original home Bordeaux. The vineyards benefit from calcareous, gravelly soil with low sand content and are located at an altitude of between 230 and 350 meters above sea level, which promotes the quality and concentration of the grapes.

The Kaltern winery is known for its high-quality wine production and innovative approaches to viticulture. Cabernet Merlot DOC 2022 is produced by fermentation on mash at a controlled temperature of 27°C and a subsequent ten-day maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and eight-month aging in oak barrels and large wooden barrels to refine its aromas and develop the tannin structure.
