The Château Margaux 2021, a Premier Grand Cru Classé, hails from the prestigious Margaux appellation in the Médoc. In the glass, it shows a deep red color with violet highlights.
The nose reveals a refined and layered bouquet, featuring blackcurrant, violet, and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is elegant and well-balanced, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish.
The blend consists of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
The dominant Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, depth, and impressive ageing potential, while Merlot contributes roundness and fruit. Cabernet Franc brings spice and finesse, and Petit Verdot enhances the color and aromatic complexity.
The 2021 vintage posed several climatic challenges, including a mild winter, a humid spring with frost risk, and a dry summer.
Thanks to precise vineyard management and perfectly timed harvesting, the estate succeeded in crafting a wine of remarkable finesse and concentration.
