Cascina Fontana, a small winery in Perno, Monforte d'Alba, impresses with wines made from classic Langhe grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto from first-class cru locations.
Cascina Fontana is a small, family-run winery in the heart of the Barolo region, more specifically in Perno, a district of Monforte d'Alba in Piedmont, Italy. This winery is located in the renowned Langhe wine-growing zone, known for its majestic vineyards and historic castles.
The history of Cascina Fontana dates back at least six generations. Today, Mario Fontana, together with his wife Luisa, runs the winery and continues the traditional methods of his ancestors. Mario learned the art of winemaking from his grandfather Saverio and adheres to many traditional techniques to produce authentic and natural wines.
A special feature of the winery is the exclusive use of classic Langhe grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The estate's vineyards are located in the best cru locations in the municipalities of Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and Sinio. These sites offer ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes and give the wines their complexity and depth.
