The 2023 Sylvaner DOC from Köfererhof perfectly captures the variety’s purity in the cool Alpine climate of the Isarco Valley. Grown at 650 m elevation, the vines enjoy sunny days, brisk nights and slate-rich soils that impart striking minerality and refreshing acidity.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright straw hue with green flashes. Aromas of green pear, alpine herbs, hay and wet slate rise gracefully. On the palate, it is juicy, linear and saline, driven by lively acidity and citrus-like clarity. The dry, energetic finish leaves you reaching for another sip.
Highly food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with asparagus, soft goat cheese, mountain trout, spring vegetables or herb-based dishes. An authentic expression of its Alpine terroir, delicious now yet capable of developing further complexity over the next few years.
