Athos Red 2018 from Ansitz Dolomytos Sacker is a refined Bordeaux-style blend consisting of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and a hint of Petit Verdot. Grown on sun-drenched loamy slopes near Tramin, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in oak vats and age for three years in barriques and 150 l “cigarillo” barrels, followed by bottle maturation.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby red with slight haze. The aroma is complex: ripe dark berries, cedarwood, and subtle smoky nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied and dense, with elegant tannins, balanced acidity, and a savory finish. A compelling natural wine that blends alpine freshness with structural depth.
