The Edelvernatsch DOC 2024 from the St. Michael Eppan winery is bright ruby red with violet nuances in the glass. Its scent beguiles with fruity aromas of red cherries, juicy strawberries and a touch of floral notes, which are accompanied by a delicate touch of herbs. On the palate, it is lively and fresh with a light yet full-bodied structure. The fine acidity and soft tannins make it pleasant to drink and make it an ideal companion for many occasions.
The grape variety from which this wine is pressed is Vernatsch, also known as Schiava, an autochthonous grape variety of South Tyrol. This grape is characterized by its bright color, its fruitiness and its easy drinkability, which is typical of the wine-growing region of South Tyrol. The climate in this region is characterized by warm summers and cool nights, which promotes slow ripening of the grapes and ensures optimal aroma development. The vineyards also benefit from the mineral-rich soil and the diverse vegetation that characterize the terroir.
The St. Michael Eppan winery, active in viticulture for over 100 years, is known for its careful winemaking and passion for quality. State-of-the-art cellar technology and traditional craftsmanship produce wines of the highest quality here. The Edelvernatsch DOC is an outstanding example of the excellent wine production of this renowned winery.
