The Kerner DOC Carned 2024 from Cantina Kaltern is a 100 % Kerner white wine grown at around 700 m elevation on sandy, porphyritic soils. Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pressing and slow fermentation at 18 °C – half spontaneously in wood – followed by five months aging on fine lees.
In the glass, it shows a bright, intense yellow hue. The bouquet offers fruity-aromatic aromas of ripe peach, mango and a subtle hint of coconut milk. On the palate it is full-bodied and velvety, yet dry and juicy, with generous fruit and a long harmonious finish.
