The Gewürztraminer DOC “Graf von Meran” 2024 from Cantina Merano is an intense white wine made from 100% Gewürztraminer. The grapes come from selected vineyards around Dorf Tirol, Algund, Lana and Labers, located at 400–500 m above sea level, on well-drained, gravelly moraine soils rich in porphyry and dolomite. Before fermentation, the must undergoes a 12-hour cold maceration, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in small stainless-steel tanks.
The wine then matures for about six months on the fine lees.
In the glass it shows a lively straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet is opulent and seductive, with notes of rose petals, lychee, cloves and exotic fruit. On the palate it is dry, fresh and soft at the same time, with elegant spiciness, harmonious structure and a long, persistent finish.
The name “Graf von Meran” identifies the premium line of the winery, emphasizing the noble origin and strong personality of this wine.
