The Weißburgunder “Oberbergener Bassgeige” Erste Lage 2020 from Franz Keller shows a pale yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, ripe pear, crisp apple, citrus zest, floral tones, and subtle minerality unfold gently. On the palate, it’s fresh, elegant, and well-balanced. Bright acidity lifts the fruit, while notes of yellow stone fruit and almond hint at the complexity. The finish is harmonious and medium in length. This Pinot Blanc is grown on loess-rich, chalky soils in one of Kaiserstuhl’s finest sites. The VDP.Erste Lage classification highlights top-quality vineyards known for producing consistently expressive and site-driven wines over generations.
