The Lagrein DOC Starc BIO 2024 from Obermoser is a certified organic (IT‑BIO‑013 since 2024) single-varietal red wine made exclusively from the indigenous Lagrein grape. The grapes come from two carefully selected vineyards in St. Magdalena, and the wine is vinified to highlight juiciness and drinkability. It matures for up to ten months in large wooden barrels, gaining subtle complexity and depth.
In the glass, it displays a deep, dark red color, almost black with purple reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of dark fruits – blackcurrant and black cherry – accompanied by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with soft tannins and well-balanced fruit. Despite its structure, the wine remains approachable and elegant – a true representation of Lagrein from Alto Adige. The organic cultivation reflects a natural philosophy: no herbicides, no pesticides, and a sustainable approach that respects the land and its character.
