The Primitivo del Salento IGT Torcicoda from the 2022 vintage features a deep ruby red and an intense scent of ripe red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by subtle notes of spices and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety with ripe tannins and a harmonious acidity that underlines its freshness. This wine is made exclusively from the Primitivo grape variety, which is known for its aromatic intensity and opulent fruitiness.

The specialty of this wine lies in its ability to capture and reflect the unique terroir characteristics of the Salento area in southern Apulia. The Tormaresca winery, which belongs to the renowned Antinori winery, produces this Primitivo and is known for its expertise in producing high-quality wines that optimally express the terroir and characteristics of the grape variety.

The Salento wine-growing region is characterized by a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The soils consist mainly of calcareous clay and offer ideal conditions for growing Primitivo vines. The vines are cultivated using the trellising system to ensure optimal solar radiation and ventilation. The aging takes place in stainless steel tanks and/or wooden barrels to preserve and support the fruitiness and structure of the wine.
