The Matarocchino DOC from the 2017 vintage presents a deep ruby red color and offers a rich and layered bouquet. It reveals aromas of dark berries, plums, spices, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a vibrant acidity structure. This wine is a successful cuvée made from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grape varieties. The specialty of this wine lies in its complexity and depth, which are accompanied by an elegant structure and a long finish. It embodies the essence of the Chianti Rufina area, one of the most prestigious wine regions of Tuscany, and demonstrates its ability to gain complexity and refinement with age. The Mediterranean climate with warm summers and cool nights, along with the calcareous soils, typically characterizes the Matarocchino and Chianti Rufina area. These conditions give the grapes a unique minerality, contributing to the character of the wine.
