The Pinot Blanc DOC “Praesulis” 2023 from Gumphof is a single-varietal Pinot Blanc crafted in the Eisack Valley. Fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in large oak casks, it reflects both varietal purity and site expression. The vineyards lie between 400 and 550 m on limestone soils, imparting freshness and finesse. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow hue with pale green highlights. The aroma opens with ripe peach, apple and citrus, complemented by herbal subtleties. On the palate, lively acidity provides structure, supporting juicy fruit and a delicate mineral undertone. The wine is lean, elegant and well-balanced—an easy-drinking yet refined choice, perfect with steamed vegetables, light seafood or soft cheeses.
