The Pinot Blanc “Lapis” 2022 from Weingut Oberstein is a distinctive white wine from South Tyrol that beautifully reflects the unique character of its mineral-rich terroir. The name “Lapis” – Latin for “stone” – refers to the poor, stony soils of granite, quartzite, and mica that lend the wine its structure and elegance.
In the glass, it displays a clear, bright straw yellow. The bouquet opens with refined aromas of ripe apple and pear, accompanied by delicate citrus notes, white blossoms, and subtle minerality. On the palate, it is fresh, precise, and well-balanced, with fine acidity, juicy fruit, and a distinct mineral touch. Maturation in large oak barrels adds depth and complexity.
