Quarantale Riserva "Mino Caló"
The Quarantale Riserva IGT Mino Caló 2013 from Rosa del Golfo is an exceptional red wine that is characterized by its deep red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it develops an intense bouquet of wild fruits and spices, complemented by earthy and woody notes. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with an excellent structure, spicy aromas and a persistent, harmonious finish.
This Riserva wine is made from a blend of 80% Negroamaro, 10% Aglianico, 5% Malvasia and 5% Primitivo. The Negroamaro grape brings deep fruit aromas and powerful tannins, while Aglianico is known for its structure and longevity. Malvasia adds aromatic complexity, and Primitivo gives the wine extra fruitiness and spice.
A special feature of this wine is its aging. The Quarantale Riserva from Rosa del Golfo matures for two years in large Slavonian oak barrels and new French barriques, followed by a further six months in the bottle. This extended aging period gives the wine its complexity and depth. The 2013 vintage was characterized by ideal weather conditions, which led to optimal ripening of the grapes. This is reflected in the particular quality and balance of this wine.
The name “Quarantale” comes from the estate's old vineyard and honors the tradition and heritage of the Caló family.
