Rosato del Salento "Vigna Mazzí"
The Rosato del Salento IGT Vigna Mazzí 2015 from Rosa del Golfo is an outstanding rosé wine that captures the essence of the Salento region. This wine is a brilliant, deep rosé with coral reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of wild berries and flowers develop, accompanied by subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is silky and generous, with persistent fruit and an elegant structure.
This rosé from Rosa del Golfo is made from 90% Negroamaro and 10% from Malvasia Nera Leccese. Negroamaro, an autochthonous grape variety from Pulia, is known for its strong aromas and deep color. Malvasia Nera adds additional aromatic complexity and fruitiness.
A special feature of this wine is the traditional production process, in which the skins stay in contact with the must for 20 hours to extract the desired color and aromas. Fermentation takes place in new barriques, followed by maturation of at least two years in steel tanks and bottles. The 2015 vintage was characterized by ideal weather conditions, which led to optimal ripening of the grapes and a particularly high quality of the wine
