Weingut Widmann Wine: Engelmoosweg 6, 39100 Bozen (IT)
The Lagrein IGT Gravità 2021 from Widmann Wine presents itself in an intense, deep ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe dark berries, accompanied by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful and full-bodied, with balanced acidity and velvety tannins that lead into a long, harmonious finish. Made from the indigenous Lagrein grape, this wine is characterized by its deep color and robust structure, typical of this variety native to South Tyrol.
Particularly noteworthy is the spontaneous fermentation on the skins over three weeks, followed by 18 months of aging in 500-liter tonneaux, which adds further complexity and depth to the wine.
