The Chianti Classico Brolio 2023 from Barone Ricasoli shines in a vibrant ruby red. On the nose, it reveals aromas of fresh red fruits, particularly cherry, accompanied by subtle balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is soft and well-balanced, with smooth tannins and a pleasant, lingering finish. The blend consists of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino. Sangiovese provides the wine’s signature acidity and red fruit character, while Colorino contributes depth of color and added structure. The Brolio Chianti Classico is known for its freshness and elegance, achieved through meticulous vinification and aging. The 2023 vintage brought climatic challenges, with a mild and rainy winter followed by a warm, dry growing season. Nevertheless, the vines produced healthy grapes, resulting in a wine of notable quality and expression.
