Chateau Kirwan
Château Kirwan is a historic winery in the heart of the renowned Bordeaux region, more specifically in the prestigious Margaux appellation. The history of the winery dates back to the 18th century, when Irish merchant Mark Kirwan purchased the estate and named it after himself. Since then, Château Kirwan has lived through a rich and varied history, which shapes its wines and gives them a particular depth and character.
The winery is located in Cantenac, a charming village in the Margaux region. The vineyards cover about 40 hectares and benefit from the gravelly soils that are characteristic of this area. These soils provide excellent drainage and allow the vines to root deeply, resulting in intensive aroma development.
Since 1925, Château Kirwan has been owned by the Schÿler family, who run the winery with great dedication and passion. The family has made significant investments in modernizing the cellars and vineyards without neglecting traditional wine-growing methods. This combination of tradition and innovation makes it possible to produce wines of exceptional quality that authentically reflect the Margaux terroir.
