Chateau Branaire-Ducru

Château Branaire-Ducru is a renowned winery in the heart of the Bordeaux region, more specifically in the Saint-Julien sub-region. The history of the winery dates back to 1680, when it was founded by Jean-Baptiste Braneyre. Since then, Château Branaire-Ducru has had a long tradition of wine production and is one of the most renowned wineries in the region.

The winery is located in the Médoc area, which is known for its excellent conditions for viticulture. The soil consists of pebbles, which provide excellent drainage and allow the vines to root deeply. These conditions are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, which are the estate's main grape varieties.

Since 1988, the winery has been owned by the Maroteaux family, who are known for their dedication and passion for winemaking. Patrick Maroteaux, the deceased patriarch of the family, has made a significant contribution to the modernization and improvement of wine production. Today, François-Xavier Maroteaux continues his father's legacy and continues to strive for excellence in wine production. A special feature of Château Branaire-Ducru is the use of gravity technology in wine production. As a result, the wine is processed gently and without the use of pumps, which increases the quality and purity of the wine. The estate's most famous wines include Château Branaire-Ducru Grand Cru Classé, known for its elegance, complexity and longevity. Another notable wine is Duluc de Branaire-Ducru, the estate's second wine.
