Ruinart

Ruinart, the oldest champagne house in the world, was founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. It is located in the renowned Champagne region, more specifically in Reims. The house was born out of the vision of Dom Thierry Ruinart, a Benedictine monk whose findings about the rising popularity of “vin de bulles” (sparkling

wine) in France led to this groundbreaking foundation.

The winery is now owned by LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) and is managed by Frédéric Dufour, who is president of the house. The management of the winery is a sign of a long tradition and deep-rooted values that emphasize both the quality and authenticity of their champagnes.

A special feature of Ruinart is the use of Crayères, chalk cellars carved deep into chalk cliffs, which offer ideal storage conditions for champagne. These cellars are not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also an essential part of the aging process, which gives Ruinart champagnes their characteristic freshness and finesse. Ruinart's most famous wines include Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, an exquisite champagne made from 100% Chardonnay, and Ruinart Rosé, which is known for its fine aromas of red fruits. These wines are characterized by their elegance, complexity and harmonious structure.
