Veuve Clicquot, an iconic winery in the Champagne region of France, is located in Reims, one of the most important cities in this famous wine-growing region. Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot, the winery achieved international fame under the leadership of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, the widow (“Veuve” in French) of François Clicquot. A special feature of Veuve Clicquot is the invention of vibration technology by Madame Clicquot, which revolutionized the quality and clarity of champagne. This method, which involves turning the bottles in special vibrating consoles, made it possible to remove the sediment and produce a clear champagne.
