Cenatiempo

The Cenatiempo winery has a rich history that dates back to 1945 when it was founded by Francesco Cenatiempo on the island of Ischia. The island, which belongs to the Campania region, is known for its volcanic soils and the ideal climate for viticulture. The winery is located in the Forio sub-region, one of the best wine-growing areas on the island. Today, the winery is managed by Pasquale Cenatiempo, who continues his family's tradition and passion. The special feature of Cenatiempo lies in the combination of traditional wine-growing methods and modern technologies, which guarantee the high quality of the wines.
The winery uses biodynamic farming methods and mainly uses autochthonous grape varieties such as Biancolella, Forastera and Piedirosso, which are perfectly adapted to the island's conditions. The estate's most famous wines include “Kalimera Biancolella DOC”, an elegant white wine with floral and mineral notes, and “Màvros IGT”, a strong red wine from Piedirosso and Guarnaccia.
Both wines reflect the terroir and the unique climatic conditions of Ischia. An interesting detail about Cenatiempo is the aging of the wines in ancient tuff cellars dug into the island's volcanic rock. These traditional cellars offer ideal conditions for wine storage and contribute to the development of complex aroma profiles.
