Emilia-Romagna is an important wine region in Italy, which stretches from the Po Valley to the Apennines. With around 58,000 hectares of vineyards, the region produces 8-9 million hectoliters of wine annually. Lambrusco is a sparkling wine that goes perfectly with hearty regional specialities. The region also produces high-quality wines such as Sangiovese and Albana di Romagna, the latter being the first Italian white wine to receive DOCG status.
