Bricco dei Guazzi
Bricco dei Guazzi is a fascinating winery in the heart of the picturesque Monferrato area in Piedmont, Italy. Nestled in the Olivola hills, this winery tells a story that dates back to the 16th century, when the lawyer and writer Stefano Guazzo had the magnificent Villa del Bel Riposo built in honor of his wife Francesca.
For centuries, the estate became the property of the Candiani family, whose influence is still embedded in the winery's logo today in the form of the coat of arms and the noble motto. The vineyards cover 30 hectares and are known for their variety of grape varieties, including the local Barbera and Albarossa as well as international varieties such as Chardonnay and
Cortese. The special feature of Bricco dei Guazzi lies in the harmonious combination of tradition and innovation. The winery uses cutting-edge technologies to maximize the quality of its wines, while at the same time relying on centuries-old techniques such as the use of the “infernot” — an underground storage space that offers consistently cool temperatures and has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
